With its key inventions and countless successes, PEUGEOT has written one of the most beautiful pages in automotive history, and with the new challenges of the 21st century, the PEUGEOT adventure continues:
PEUGEOT's PureTech family of 3-cylinder petrol engines combines efficiency and cutting-edge technology. Chosen as engine of the year in its category in 2015, 2016 and 2017, this family equips the entire PEUGEOT range from the 108 to the 5008.
Creator of the most efficient system on the market in terms of reducing polluting emissions, PEUGEOT affirms its dominance in terms of environmental efficiency. BlueHDi is the name of PEUGEOT's Euro 6 Diesel engines, which combine high performance and low emissions.
The EAT6 gearbox is a 6-speed automatic gearbox that optimises fuel consumption and driving experience. It has been designed to drastically reduce CO2 emissions while offering a high level of user comfort
This PEUGEOT automatic gearbox reduces fuel consumption by up to 7% thanks to improved efficiency with the extension of the Stop & Start function up to 20 km/h and the shift to 8 gears. It also saves weight and is incredibly compact.
With the Stop & Start function, available on petrol and diesel engines, you'll combine environmental performance with driving pleasure!
Suitable for city driving, the Stop & Start function automatically switches off the engine whenever the vehicle comes to a halt, for example at a red light or a stop sign. When the driver wishes to continue the journey, the restart is instantaneous and smooth.
This technology has many advantages: better control of fuel consumption (-15% in dense urban traffic compared to a conventional vehicle), reduction of CO2 emissions (zero emissions during engine shutdown phases) and silence at a standstill.
In order to adapt to all driving styles, Stop & Start can be deactivated.
Two platforms are available: the EMP2 platform and the multi-energy CMP/eCMP platform are at the heart of the design and manufacture of the Stellantis Group's new urban, mid-range and top-of-the-range models, which provide in particular:
Launched on the PEUGEOT 308 in 2013, the EMP2 platform enables the production of the new PEUGEOT 3008/3008 Plug-in Hybrid and 5008 SUVs, the 508/508 Plug-in Hybrid, the 508 SW/508 SW Plug-in Hybrid, the Rifter, the Traveller/e-Traveller and the Expert/e-Expert.
The CMP/eCMP platform is specifically for the manufacture of the 208/e-208 city car and the 2008/e-2008 compact SUV.
PEUGEOT is the only brand in the world to market a global sustainable mobility offer:
As a major player in every technological revolution, PEUGEOT is serenely tackling the energy transition with the conviction that technology is still and always at the service of motoring pleasure.
Plug-in hybrid technology draws on two sources of energy for getting around: it combines an electric motor with a battery that can be recharged and a petrol engine.
Because of this, you benefit from driving in 100% electric mode for short journeys and using the combustion engine for long journeys.
In line with its commitments to reducing the environmental impact of its end-of-life vehicles, the Stellantis Group has joined forces with SNAM, the European leader in the collection and recycling of batteries. The agreement signed at the end of 2015, as part of the partnership initiated with SNAM in France in 2012, guarantees the quality of the collection and recycling processes for the batteries of the Group's end-of-life electric and hybrid vehicles throughout its sales network and production sites in Europe.
The performance achieved by SNAM reaches 70% efficiency of recycled mass for lithium-ion batteries in electric vehicles and 84% for Ni-MH batteries in hybrid vehicles. These rates are well above the thresholds of European regulations, which require 50% material recycling.
